Consider THIS when taking supplements

by Dr. Nick Zyrowski March 05, 2024

This is what you need to consider when taking supplements.

My experience on this topic comes from formulating supplements myself, the clinical experience of over 20,000 patient visits, and having close friends that are biochemist and scientists.

The first thing you have to consider is purity. This is important because there are many levels of purity standards, ultimately in supplementation you want the best. Free of pesticides, herbicides, heavy metals, and every other chemical you can imagine.

Next… you have to consider dosing. When a particular vitamin is proven scientifically to support a certain health problem, it’s always based on a dose. Most vitamin companies attach their product to research that support overcoming a health problem or symptom but almost never use proper dosing. The average consumer will buy the product, not get any benefit, then say they tried the natural route and it doesn’t work. Science based dosing is VERY important.

Here is the next thing to consider… bioavailability. Meaning how well you can absorb the vitamins. Clinically when we take X-rays, we can see hard packed vitamins passing through someone’s colon, never breaking down, never offering any benefit. (Talk about a waste of money!) A vitamin is only as good as its ability to be absorbed and utilized into your system.

Most brands take none of this into consideration. They use cheap ingredient at low levels, fancy marketing, all which is a recipe for you to get ripped off AND no results!

Many mainstream supplement brands from your local grocery store are owned by major companies that you probably disagree with, like Nestle, Bayer Pharmaceutical, or even Pfizer.

It’s very often I can cut someone’s supplement intake in half, and get them better results by using products that actually work. Quality is everything.

I make sure everything that I use in my clinic checks these boxes. I also focus on using formulations that have been used & proven through research.

Every day people on social media ask me to evaluate the vitamin brand they use and determine if they are good. Unfortunately I do not have time for this... but here is what I can do. This is my clinic store (link below) which I have made accessible to everyone. Every vitamin within the store is approved by me. Some brands are my formulations, some are not. I choose the best products from many brands to ensure positive results.
