OPTIMIZE NITRIC OXIDE PROCESSES
- For Optimal Cellular & Tissue Performance
Nitric Oxide (NO), a simple
gas-molecule of one
nitrogen atom and one
oxygen molecule, is also
called nitrogen monoxide. It is an important free radical and neurotransmitter that
serves the cells and body by facilitating hundreds of
beneficial metabolic processes, but can also get involved
with some destructive activities. Due to the lack of dietary
and intracellular antioxidants, NO can get caught up in a
self-perpetuating free radical cascade that damages the cellular energy producers – the mitochondria that make
ATP (adenosine triphosphate).
Nutritionally speaking, today many people do not have
enough necessary nutrients to support the body’s need
for many vitally important NO functions, and thus, their
health declines, and their body expresses symptoms
• Hypertension • Muscle loss and weakness
• Low energy • Male impotency
• Heart rhythm irregularities • Diabetes
• Depression • Neuropathies
• Non-healing ulcers • Poor memory
• Weak immune system activity • Excess weight
NO is an important regulator and mediator of numerous
processes in three vital areas: 1) nervous system cells, communication, and function, 2) immune system
communication and effectiveness, and 3) cardiovascular
regulation of blood supply. Inside the cells, NO facilitates
hundreds of reactions that allow life to continue on a
nano-second by nano-second basis.
NO is a neurotransmitter associated
with neuronal activity and functions like avoidance
learning—a process of behavior modification in which the
likelihood of a specific behavior is increased or decreased
through positive or negative reinforcement each time
the behavior is exhibited, so that the subject comes to
associate the pleasure or displeasure of the reinforcement
with the behavior. Imbalances involving NO can result in
NO also partially mediates macrophage
cytotoxicity against microbes and tumor cells. NO helps
generate the free radicals that the macrophage uses to
destroy bacteria, fungi, virus, mycoplasma, and other
NO regulates blood pressure via
vascular smooth muscle relaxation, for example: arterial vasodilation and increasing blood flow.
Exogenous NO sources (supplemental L-Arginine),
constitute a powerful way to support NO when the body
cannot generate enough for normal biological functions.
There is a constant demand for L-Arginine and NO
throughout the body.
